Renewables for All

We are collaborating with Habitat for Humanity of Kitsap County to provide solar hot water systems on Habitat homes. The inaugural project created the first Habitat-sponsored home in Washington State to have renewable energy system. The cost was covered by generous donors through our fundraising efforts.

This is an important collaboration, as we believe that the benefits of renewable energy should be accessible for everyone. The purpose of Renewables for All is to raise social awareness of the importance of affordable housing and energy.

With domestic hot water heating being the second highest energy expense after space heating in a household, solar thermal systems for pre-heating domestic hot water will go a long ways towards helping to relieve some of the burdens of rising energy costs for many years, especially for those with limited incomes. Funds raised for the project go to purchase the necessary components of the systems. Following Habitat practice, CES provides pro bono installation work
